Morris dancing on the high seas

The Potter’s Crotch Morris Men are the only Morris dancing team in England to double up as a lifeboat crew and they have bravely manned the Potter’s Crotch Lifeboat for over twenty years, saving dozens of lives while proudly wearing their sashes, waistcoats and wooden clogs.

In 2002 the Morris Men became national celebrities when they bravely rescued three schoolchildren trapped underground in the old abandoned fish mines. As a result they were asked to record a Christmas charity single and reached number 6 in the UK charts with their a cappella cover version of “We’ll Lift You Up”.

The Morris Men also play six-a-side football and two thirds of them won bronze at the 1998 Winter Olympics as a four man bobsleigh team.
